Born in Chicago, Marta Horodylowsky-Kozyckyj began dancing at an early age. She began studying ballet at the age of seven with Edna McRae and Keith Ellison. Ms. Kozyckyj has studied tap, jazz, character, and modern dance, taking classes from well-known choreographer and teacher, Lou Conte.
From 1980 to 1986, she was one of the artistic directors as well as a founding member of the Chicago-based dance ensemble Hromovytsia. Since 1984 she has been one of the co-directors of the Ukrainian School of Dance of the Sts. Volodymyr and Olha parish.
Mark began studying Ukrainian dance at the age of four. Through the years, as a member of the school and with the Hromovytsia Dance Ensemble, his commitment and passion to dancing has given him the opportunity to tour across the United States, Canada, and Ukraine. Mark has taught with the Ukrainian School of Dance for over fifteen years and has been co-director for the past ten.
